Sam and Al, leaping through time simultaneously, have changed places. Sam, now a hologram to Al, is reunited at Project Quantum Leap with Donna, the wife he had forgotten existed due to his "Swiss-cheesed" memory. Meanwhile, back in 1945, Al must prevent the deaths of former POW Tom Jarret and his fiancé.
